RECOMMENDED ACTION:
To receive a presentation from representatives of Poseidon Resources and the San Diego County Water
Authority regarding the Cartsbad Desalination project.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Representatives from Poseidon Resources and the San Diego County Water Authority will give an update
on current and future activities relating to the construction of the Cartsbad Desalination project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within the
meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment,
or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and therefore does not require
environmental review.

May 14, 2013.
134 surveys received (or incoming calls regarding the
survey).
27 meetings scheduled/completed.
Comments received address driveway access, noise, company signage during construction and the possible interruption of utilities.
Construction notices mailed two weeks prior to any work.
Cannon Road trench work and Faraday Avenue bore pit notice to be mailed July 15.
