OF AVENIDA MAGNIFICA TO CALLE ARROYO CITY MANAGER
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. CS-229, approving an amendment to Title 10, Chapter 10.40, of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code to allow parking on both sides of Hosp Way from 550 feet west of Avenida Magnifica to
Calle Arroyo.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. CS-229 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on October 8,
2013. The second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance which will become effective
thirty days after adoption. The City Clerk will have the ordinance or a summary ofthe ordinance
published within fifteen days, if adopted.
FISCAL IMPACT:
See AB #21,393 on file in the Office ofthe City Clerk.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State CEQA Guidelines
Section 15301(c)- minor alteration of existing facilities, including streets, sidewalks, gutters, and similar
facilities involving negligible or no expansion.

CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE
CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE TO ALLOW PARKING ON BOTH SIDES
4 OF HOSP WAY FROM 550 FEET WEST OF AVENIDA MAGNIFICA TO
CALLE ARROYO.

The City Council ofthe City of CaHsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.40 ofthe CaHsbad Municipal Code is amended by
the revision of Section 10.40.049 to read as follows:
9 "10.40.049 Parking restncted on Hosp Wav.
Parking of vehicles is prohibited during all hours of the day and night on both
10 sides of Hosp Way from El Camino Real to Calle Arroyo and from 550 feet west
of Avenida Magnifica to Monroe Street."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption; and
^ 2 the city clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause the full text of the ordinance or a
14 summary of the ordinance prepared by the city attorney to be published at least once in a
15 newspaper of general circulation in the City of CaHsbad within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
