DEPT. CLERK COMMISSION APPOINTMENT CITY MGR.
RECOMMENDED ACTION;
Adopt Resolution No. 2014-034 appointing one member to the Historic Preservation
Commission.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
The term of Commission Member Joyce Smith expired in April, 2013. She was originally appointed in July,
2004, to complete the term of Dorothy Muth and subsequently served two full terms.
One appointment to the Historic Preservation Commission is therefore required.
Other members of the Historic Preservation Commission are: Raul Diaz, Christopher Garcia, Susan
Gutierrez and Murray Levy.
Applications received for the Historic Preservation Commission are on file in the Office of the City Clerk until
the end of the calendar year.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT;
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within the
meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment, or
a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and therefore does not require
environmental review.

WHEREAS, the term of Commissioner Joyce Smith expired In April, 2013; and,

8 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
