IT REQUEST FOR OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL TO ATTEND GARTNER INFRASTRUCTURE & OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT SUMMIT. CITY MGR. ^ RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2014-062 authorizing the IT Operations Manager to attend a two and a half day summit, held in Orlando, Florida, to gain critical insights and advice on leveraging current and emerging technologies in creating and maintaining effective, efficient, and agile technical operations and IT infrastructure citywide - on June 9-11, 2014. ITEM EXPLANATION: The purpose of the travel is to attend the Gartner Infrastructure & Operations Management Summit. The Gartner Infrastructure & Operations Management Summit is an esteemed gathering of Infrastructure & Operations (l&O) and IT innovation teams. Summit attendees benefit from a unique learning experience filled with thought-provoking presentations, real-world case studies, analyst engagement and access to leading Infrastructure & Operations solution providers. This summit will provide important information on infrastructure and operations and how related technologies could be leveraged to deliver the highest business value and impact to the city operations. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost to attend the summit is approximately $2,600.00 which includes admission to the summit, applicable flights, shuttles, lodging, and meals. Funds are available in the Information Technology Department budget to cover all estimated costs. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and therefore does not require environmental review. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of 20 Carlsbad, California, as follows that: 21 1. The above recitations are true and correct. 22 2.
