RECOMMENDED ACTION:
To receive a presentation from representatives of Poseidon Resources and the San Diego County Water
Authority regarding the Carisbad Desalination project.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
Representatives from Poseidon Resources and the San Diego County Water Authority will give an update
on current and future activities relatingto the construction ofthe CaHsbad Desalination project.
FISCAL IMPACT;
None.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT;
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within the
meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment,
or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and therefore does not require
environmental review.

Pipeline Construction –Faraday Avenue / CRCTunnel at Van Allen Way – pipe installed.Tunnel at College - has begun and will be complete early May.Trenching crews are mobilizing just west of Van Allen heading east towards College.Outreach continues in the CRC. 11
Pipeline Construction –Lionshead / MelrosePipeline installation has reached the intersection of Lionshead and Melrose. Construction on Melrose on hold to allow crews to focus on restoration of Lionshead and Cannon.12
