P) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2014-092 amending the General Employees' Salary Schedule to reflect the Business Intelligence Analyst at salary grade 94. ITEM EXPLANATION: As a result of staff review and unsuccessful recruiting efforts, staff recommends that the salary grade for the Business Intelligence Analyst be changed from salary grade 84 to salary grade 94 in the General Employees' Salary Schedule. BACKGROUND: The Business intelligence Analyst was approved in Council Resolution No. 2013-113. Since that time the Information Technology and Human Resources Departments have been actively recruiting forthe Business Intelligence Job Family. To date, no eligible candidates have been certified for the non-management position. There is limited private sector salary information available however the data that Is published indicates that the median salary In San Diego is $115,342. Staff recommends that the job classification for the Business Intelligence Analyst be leveled at salary grade 94, Attachment A, to reflect market conditions for this position and Internal leveling. FISCAL IMPACT: • The cost of salary and benefits is approximately $12,000 and will be reflected in the proposed FY 2014/2015 budget. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065 and CEQA Guidelines section 15738, this change does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of CEQA and therefore, does not require an environmental review.
