RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution Nos. 2014-102 and 2014-103 appointing two members to the Beach
Preservation Committee.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The terms of committee members Matthew Rocco and Jayme Timberlake expire in June 2014.
Mr. Rocco was appointed in August 2006 and has served approximately seven years and nine months.
Ms. Timberlake was appointed in July 2009 and has served approximately four years and ten months.
Two appointments to the Beach Preservation Committee are therefore required.
Other members of the Beach Preservation Committee are D. Bret Barger, Darryl Hatheway, Linda
Petrucci, Norelynn Pion-Gorueau, and Shelley Sander.
Applications received for the Beach Preservation Committee are onfile in the office ofthe City Clerk.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within the
meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment,
or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and therefore does not
require environmental review.

I am writing this letter to inform you that I am submitting my early resignation from the Carisbad
Beach Preservation Committee. In fact, my last four year term will expire in June of 2014. This notice
IS provided so the city can begin the process of appointing another interested member of the
community to serve on the committee.

Hi Steve,
I'm sorry for the delay. I meant to reply to this a month ago. At this crazy time in life, with a two and half year old and a
six month old and a full time job, I'm going to have to let my member status expire in June.
I've had a great time working on the beach preservation committee, but feel that I should let someone else that can be
more active in the committee take my place.
Other than being crazy busy, everything is great. We have two healthy boys and are so blessed. I hope you are doing well
too.
I'll most likely continue to be in touch when issues concerning the beach arise. Or perhaps I'll see you at the h2o
conference again this year.
