ASD-HR CITY MGR. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 2014-128 revising the Hourly Salary Schedule. ITEM EXPLANATION: Effective July 1, 2014, the State of California's minimum wage will increase to $9.00 per hour. A revised hourly salary schedule reflecting the new minimum wage increase is submitted for Council's consideration and approval. A strikeout version ofthe recommended salary schedule is attached. BACKGROUND: Governor Brown signed ABIO, increasing the California minimum wage from $ 8.00 to $ 9.00, effective July 1, 2014. Although the hourly salary schedule was last revised January 28, 2014 to add two new job titles, the salary ranges have not been adjusted since the minimum wage was increased on January 1, 2008. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact related to the change described above. All current hourly employees are compensated at or above the new minimum wage. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonable foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment; and therefore, does not require environmental review.
