LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
APPOINTMENT
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2014-140 appointing one member to the Library Board of
Trustees.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Trustee Wendy Hinman expires in June 2014. She was originally appointed in
February, 2011. Ms. Hinman is eligible for reappointment and has expressed her desire to be
reappointed.
One appointment to the Library Board of Trustees is therefore required.
Other members ofthe Library Board of Trustees are: Bob Benson, Marie Bradley, Beth Hulsart and
Alice "Sandy" Parsons.
Applications received for the Library Board of Trustees are on file in the Office ofthe City Clerk until
the end of the calendar year.
NOTE: Members of the Library Board of Trustees are subject to the provisions of the
Political Reform Act, and must file a Statement of Economic Interests.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in
the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and
therefore does not require environmental review.

Dear Mayor Hall:
Thank you for allowing me the opporttinity to serve on the
Carlsbad City Library Board of Trustees. As you may recall, I
was appointed in February of 2011 to fill a vacancy created by
the resignation of Rob Swette. My appointment will expire in
June of this year,
I have greatly enjoyed serving on this Board and my interest
and support of our Library and its service to this commimity
increases daily. I would like an opportunity to continue in this
position and would appreciate your consideration in
reappointing me for another term.
