ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH
ALL-WAY STOP CONTROLS AT HILLSIDE DRIVE AND
PARK DRIVE CITY MANAGER
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. CS-256. amending Title 10, Chapter 10.28 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code with the
addition of sections 10.28.993 and 10.28.994 to require stops on Park Drive at its intersection with Hillside
Drive.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Ordinance No. CS-256 was introduced and first read at the City Council meeting held on June 24, 2014. The
second reading allows the City Council to adopt the ordinance that will become effective thirty days after
adoption. The City Clerk will have the ordinance or a summary of the ordinance published within fifteen
days, if adopted.
FISCAL IMPACT:

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per State CEQA Guidelines
Section 1530(c) - minor alteration of existing facilities, including streets, sidewalks, gutters, and similar
facilities involving negligible or no expansion.

The City Council ofthe City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.28 ofthe Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by
the addition of Section 10.28.993 to read as follows:
"10.28.993 Hillside Drive.
10 Drivers shall stop where the following described streets intersect Hillside
Drive:
11 Park Drive"
SECTION 2: That Title 10, Chapter 10.28 ofthe Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by
the addition of Section 10.28.994 to read as follows:
15 "10.28.994 Park Drive.
16 Drivers shall stop where the following described streets intersect Park
Drive:
"•^ Hillside Drive"
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption; and
the city clerk shall certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause the full text ofthe ordinance or a
summary of the ordinance prepared by the city attorney to be published at least once in a
newspaper of general circulation in the City of Carlsbad within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.

INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at a Regular Meeting of the Carlsbad City Council on the
24* day of June 2014, and thereafter
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
