NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF CONTRACT FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2013 PAVEMENT

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2014-186 accepting tiie contract for construction of tine 2013 Pavement
Overlay, Project No. 6001-13OL as complete and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of Completion and
release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On November 5, 2013, the City of Carlsbad awarded a contract to TC Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of
$748,744 for the construction of the 2013 Pavement Overlay, Project No. 6001-13OL.
TC Construction Co., Inc. substantially completed the work on April 18, 2014. The final change order was executed
June 6, 2014. City staff has inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends acceptance of the
work by City Council.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
The approval of a Notice of Completion is a ministerial process and is exempt from the requirements of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 19.04.070A.l.a.
