RECOMMENDED AaiON:
City Council of the City of Carisbad adopt Resolution No. 2014-213 accepting the contract for
construction of the Park Drive Waterline Improvement and Northwest Quadrant Storm Drain Program,
Project Nos. 5030, 6608 & 6013 as complete and directing the City Clerk to record a Notice of
Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
Board of Directors of Carlsbad Municipal Water District adopt Resolution No. 1500 accepting
the contract for construction for the Park Drive Waterline Improvement and Northwest Quadrant Storm
Drain Program, Project Nos. 5030, 6608 & 6013 as complete and directing the Secretary to record a
Notice of Completion and release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On June 11, 2013 the City of Carisbad and CMWD awarded a contract to Schilling Paradise Corp. in the
amount of $789,617 for the construction of the Park Drive Wateriine Improvement and Northwest
Quadrant Storm Drain Program, Project Nos. 5030, 6608 & 6013.
Schilling Paradise Corp. completed the work on June 24, 2014. The final change order was executed on
July 22, 2014. Staff has inspected the work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends acceptance
ofthe work by City Council and the Board.

WHEREAS, the construction of the Park Drive Wateriine Improvement and Northwest
Quadrant Storm Drain Program was completed to the city's satisfaction by Schilling Paradise
Corp. on June 11, 2014; and
11 WHEREAS, the final project change order was executed on July 22, 2014; and
12 WHEREAS, the formal Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.

NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carisbad,
