RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No.
Safety Commission.
2014-240 appointing Mychal Dourson to the Traffic
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Commissioner Chris Chauncey resigned from the Commission in August 2014. Mr. Chauncey
was appointed in August 2012 to replace Commissioner Gordon Cress, for a term expiring in
July 2016.
One appointment to the Traffic Safety Commission is therefore required.
Other members of the Traffic Safety Commission are: Kathryn Fox, Chuck Hunter, Fred Muir
and Hope Wrisley.
Applications received for the Traffic Safety Commission are on file in the Office of the City
Clerk until the end of the calendar year.
NOTE: Members of the Traffic Safety Commission are subject to the provisions of the
Political Reform Act, and must file a Statement of Economic Interests.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical
change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the
environment, and therefore does not require environmental review.

WHEREAS, Commissioner Chris Chauncey resigned from the Commission in August

8 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
9 California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is hereby appointed to serve on the Traffic Safety

Mayor Hall:
My family and I have moved from Carlsbad in June and I have been asked to send you an email with my
resignation from my Commission on the Traffic Safety Board. We are hoping to retum in the near future as
Carlsbad is one of our favorite cities and it was with great sadness that we needed to move. I enjoyed my time
serving with the City of Carlsbad and the great people of the city. Thank you for the opportunity.
