RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2014-253 appointing one member to the Histonc
Preservation Commission.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Commission Member Murray Levy expired in Apnl, 2014. Mr. Levy was
appointed in Apnl, 2011, to replace Wendy Hinman and served the commission for
approximately three years.
One appointment to the Histonc Preservation Commission is therefore required.
Other members of the Histonc Preservation Commission are: Raul Diaz, Chnstopher Garcia,
Susan Gutierrez and Laurie Boone.
Applications received for the Historic Preservation Commission are on file in the Office of the
City Clerk until the end of the calendar year.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical
change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the
environment, and therefore does not require environmental review.

WHEREAS, the term of Commissioner Murray Levy expired in Apnl, 2014; and,
WHEREAS, one appointment is needed to fill this position.
8 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
9 as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is hereby appointed to serve on the Histonc Preservation
Commission for a term expiring in April 2018:
