RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive and file, with City Council concurrence, the City Council reorganization by appointing
council members to regional committee assignments.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Following the General Municipal Election on November 4, 2014, part of the Council's reorganization
includes the City Council Regional Committee Assignments as detailed in Title 2, Chapter 2.04 of the
Municipal Code, Section 2.04.050.
Exhibit No. 1 is a list of the current City Council Committee regional assignments. This list includes
only those committee appointments which are made by the Mayor per Carlsbad Municipal Code
section 2.06.070. It does not include those committees on which various Council Members serve
as a result of their appointments by other agencies.
At the City Council Regular Meeting of December 9, 2014, Mayor Hall announced Council Member
Keith Blackburn as Mayor Pro Tempore.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within
the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical changed in the
environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and
therefore does not require environmental review.
