ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $25,000 FOR THE CARLSBAD
CITY LIBRARY FROM THE LECROISSETTE FAMILY TRUST
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 2015-021 accepting a donation of $25,000 from the LeCroissette Family Trust to
the Carlsbad City Library, and send an appropriate letter of thanks.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Long-time library patron and supporter Jill LeCroissette, who passed away on March 26, 2014, designated through
the LeCroissette Family Trust Estate a donation of $25,000 to the Carlsbad City Library. Ms. LeCroissette did not
designate a specific library use for the funds. However, this gift is especially beneficial at this time as staff
recommends using the donation to offset funds already appropriated toward the Carlsbad City Library capital
improvement projects scheduled for construction in FY 2015-16.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Staff recommends using this $25,000 donation to offset funds already appropriated toward the Carlsbad City
Library capital improvement projects.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT;
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within the meaning of
CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and therefore does not require environmental review.

Carlsbad City Library, and;
WHEREAS, the donation from the LeCroissette Family Trust will provide funding for the
Library's capital improvement projects.
5 WHEREAS, LeCroissette Family Trust has donated $25,000 to the City of Carlsbad for the

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Carlsbad, California
