UNDA SARNOWSKY TO THE CARLSBAD CITY UBRARY IN
THE AMOUNT OF $10,125.18

RECOMMENDED ACTION;
Adopt Resolution No. 2015-154 accepting a donation of 98 stock shares with the sold
market value of $10,125.18 from Linda Sarnowsky to the Carlsbad City Ubrary, and authorizing the
Administrative Services Director to appropriate the received funds to the Ubrary & Cultural Arts
operating budget.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
Ubrary patron and Friends ofthe Carlsbad Library board member Unda Sarnowsky has donated these
funds to recognize the continued support provided to the Carlsbad City Ubrary by the Friends' board
members and volunteers through the years. With City Council's acceptance, staff will send an
appropriate letter of thanks.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This donation will be used to enhance library services by purchasing additional materials for the Carlsbad
City Library.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within the
meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment,
or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and therefore does not require
environmental review.

FROM UNDA SARNOWSKY TO THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY IN THE

5 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Ubrary has received a donation of 98 stock shares with the

11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
^2 as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts with thanks the donation of $10,125.18 from
Ms. Sarnowsky and authorizes the Administrative Services Director to appropriate
sold market value of $10,125.18 from Carlsbad resident and Friends of the Carlsbad Ubrary
board member Unda Sarnowsky; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Sarnowsky has requested these funds be used to enhance library
