IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT BOARD
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 2015-278 appointing Frank ldris, representing Legoland
California Resort to the Carlsbad Tourism Business Improvement District Board (CTBID).
2. Adopt Resolution No. ___ 20_1_5_-2_7_9 ___ , reappointing Kimberly Malaspina (Akers) to the
CTBID.
[[tl]ITEM EXPLANATION:
The term of Nancy Nayudu, representing Pelican Cove Inn, expires in November 2015. She was
appointed in May 2009 and subsequently reappointed in October 2011.
Resolution No. 2005-332 states that members shall be from assessees within the district.
Legoland California Resort is an assessee within the district.
It is requested that Mr. ldris be appointed to the CTBID for a term ending in November 2019.
The term of Kimberly Malaspina, representing West Inn and Suites, expires in November 2015.
Ms. Malaspina has requested, and is eligible for, reappointment.
It is requested that Ms. Malaspina be reappointed to the CTBID for a term ending in November
2019.
Others members of the CTBID Board are Hector Becerra, Holiday Inn Carlsbad by the Sea, Bill
Canepa, WaveCrest Oceanfront, Ulrich Samietz, Park Hyatt Aviara, and Timothy Stripe, Grand
Pacific Resports.
NOTE: Members of the Carlsbad Tourism Business Improvement District Board are subject to
the provisions of the Political Reform Act, and must file a Statement of Economic Interests.
ENVIRONMENTAL /IMPAqj:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause wither a direct physical change in
the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and
therefore does not require environmental review.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING LEGOLAND
CALIFORNIA RESORT REPRESENTATIVE TO THE CARLSBAD

WHEREAS, the term of Board Member Nancy Nayudu, representing Pelican Cove Inn,

WHEREAS, members shall be from assessees within the district as specified in Resolution
No. 2005-332, and
WHEREAS, Legoland California Resort is an assessee within the district.
