Part III:
What We Learned
What We Learned
Key Indicators remain high
and relatively stable in
changing environments
o Measures of quality of life
and satisfaction with the
City’s overall provision of
services have all remained
over 90 percent in changing
economic and social
conditions
o Last year City staff indicated
their expectations that
concerns about
development could impact
overall metrics
Open space ratings are
down; concern about
building and growth are up
o The number of residents who
agree Carlsbad protects open
space has declined by 11
percentage points since 2013
o The decrease coincides with a
seven point increase in the
number of residents who select
the prevention of building and
growth as their number one
quality of life improvement
Generally resident’s placed higher
levels of satisfaction on those
specific services they also placed a
higher level of importance upon
o This was largely true of all the
specific services examined
except for issues related to
traffic and roads.
