Commission
Recommended Action
Adopt a Resolution appointing three members to the Traffic Safety Commission.
Executive Summary
The term of Commissioner Fox expired in July 2016. She was originally appointed in August 2012
to replaced Commissioner Roney and is eligible for reappointment.
The term of Commissioner Poka expired in July 2016. He was appointed in May 2015 to fill the
unexpired term of Commissioner Wrisley. Commissioner Poka is eligible for reappointment.
The term of Commissioner Dourson expired in July 2016. He was appointed in October 2014 to
fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Chauncey. Commissioner Dourson is eligible for
reappointment.
Discussion
Commissioners Fox, Poka and Dourson wish to be reappointed to the Traffic Safety Commission.
Other members of the Traffic Safety Commission are: Chuck Hunter and Fred Muir.
NOTE: Members of the Traffic Safety Commission are subject to the provisions of the Political
Reform Act, and must file a Statement of Economic Interests.

Environmental Evaluation (CEQA)
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in

RESOLUTION NO. 2016-221
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING THREE MEMBERS TO THE TRAFFIC SAFETY
COMMISSION
Exhibit 1
WHEREAS, the terms of Commissioners Fox, Poka, and Dourson expired in July 2016; and
WHEREAS, there are currently three vacancies on the Traffic Safety Commission, and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Fox was appointed in August 2012 to replace Commissioner Roney
and is eligible for reappointment; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Poka was appointed in May 2015 to replace Commissioner Wrisley
and is eligible for reappointment; and
WHERAS, Commissioner Dourson was appointed in October 2014 to replace Commissioner
Chauncey and is eligible for reappointment; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following Carlsbad residents are hereby appointed to serve on the Traffic Safety
Commission, for a term ending in July 2020.
