Following the appointment of one member to the Housing Commission, the City Clerk's office
will update the Commission roster, coordinate the oath of office, and completion of an ethics
training course and Conflict of Interest filing.
Environmental Evaluation (CEQA)
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in
the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and
therefore does not require environmental review.
Public Notification
This item was noticed in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act and was available for public
viewing and review at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled meeting date.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ONE MEMBER TO THE HOUSING COMMISSION.
Exhibit 1
WHEREAS, Commissioner Igoe has served two consecutive terms and is not eligible for
reappointment; and
WHEREAS, the term of Commissioner Igoe expires in July 2017; and,
WHEREAS, there is currently one scheduled vacancy on the Housing Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following Carlsbad resident is hereby appointed to serve on the Housing
Commission, for a term ending in July 2021.

The following vacancy exists in the City of Carlsbad.
HOUSING COMMISSION
One Vacancy -Member at Large
The Housing Commission shall consist of five members to be appointed by the Mayor and
confirmed by the City Council. Members must be residents of Carlsbad and registered
voters. Members serve four year terms (unless appointed to fill an unexpired term).
Members are required to file a "Statement of Economic Interests" with the City Clerk.
Term: July 2017 to July 2021
Applications are available on the City's website or in the City Clerk's Office located in City Hall at
1200 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad. Applications should be submitted to the City Clerk's Office
by noon on June 13, 2017. For further information, contact the Staff Liaison, Debbie Fountain,
