Subject: Approval of the 2019 Regular City Council Meeting Calendar
Recommended Action
Adopt a Resolution approving the 2019 Regular City Council Meeting Calendar.
Executive Summary /Discussion
The City Council establishes its regular meeting schedule annually by resolution. Adopting the
calendar by resolution meets Brown Act requirements (Government Code §54954) and
provides the City Council the opportunity to increase notification to the public of its scheduled
regular meetings. Special meetings can still be called as needed by providing 24 hour notice
before the time of such special meeting, and providing notice to each local newspaper of
general circulation and radio and television stations that have requested notice in writing or
other means.
Fiscal Analysis
There are no significant fiscal impacts that would result from adoption of the attached
resolution.
Next Steps
The City Clerk Services Manager will distribute the approved calendar to the City Council, staff
and local newspapers. In addition the calendar will be posted on the City's website.
Environmental Evaluation (CEQA)
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project"
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change
in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment,
and, therefore, does not require environmental review.
Public Notification
This item was noticed in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act and was available for viewing
at least 72 hours prior to the meeting date.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE 2019 REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
CALENDAR
Exhibit 1
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Council has determined it will establish its scheduled regular
meetings annually by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Ralph M. Brown Act (Government Code §54954) provides for the establishment
of an annual regular meeting calendar procedure; and
WHEREAS, special meetings of the City Council will be called as necessary following the
requirements of the Brown Act (Government Code §54956).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California as
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the 2019 calendar establishing the dates and locations for regular City Council
meetings (Attachment A) is hereby approved.
3. That the 2019 calendar will be posted to the city's website.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad on the 16th day of October, 2018, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: M. Hall, K. Blackburn, C. Schumacher.
NOES: M. Schumacher and M. Packard
ABSENT: None.
