1-l-G. 7.724/90 CONSIDERATION OF REVISING THE STAGE II
EPT. WATER ALERT RESTRICTIONS TO ALTER
'DESIGNATED IRRIGATING TIMES CITY lUlGR.a
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
No change to the current Stage II Restrictions
ITEM EXPLANATION
Pursuant to a Board of Directors request, the Water Commission has reviewed the possibility of revising the designated irrigating times as part of the current Stage II water usage restrictions. The Commission's review was completed at their July 11th meeting. It was the opinion of the Commission to retain the existing time of day restrictions at 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
There were a few reasons discussed that lead the Commission to their recommendation:
* A resident may water their lawn after 6:00 p.m. and avoid the need to awake early enough to water before 6:00 a.m. This is especially true during this season when there is sunlight until 8:00 or 8:30 p.m.
* The other water purveyors within the City are on a 6:00 to 6:00 cycle
* This will be a topic discussed at the August meeting of General Managers to be held at the San Diego County Water Authority
* The Commission desires to review this at their meeting in September when information is available from the Manager's meeting
