REQUES7 FOR AUTHORITY TO DESTROY FILES CITY MGR. % RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. '&I 3 , authorizing the destruction of certain files in the Carlsbad Municipal Water District's Office. ITEM EXPLANATION This Agenda Bill is part of a continuing Records Management Program for the City. Adoption of the attached Resolution will allow for destruction of miscellaneous documents shown on the attached Exhibit "A". Section 60200 et seq. of the Government Code provides the authority for Special Districts to destroy documents that are more than two years old. The section also requires consent of the City Attorney and the legislative body prior to destruction of any document. The documents listed on Exhibit "A" have been reviewed in accordance with the provisions of the Government Code, and the City Attorney consents to their destruction. FISCAL IMPACT None. EXHIBITS: :: Resolution No. 813 Exhibit "A", a list of documents to be destroyed. RESOLUTION NO. 817 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT, CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN FILES. WHEREAS, Section 60200 et seq. of the Government Code provides authority for the destruction of certain records; and WHEREAS, the documents listed on Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof, have been reviewed by the Secretary; and WHEREAS, the Secretary recommends that all documents listed on Exhibit ." ' . "A"are no longer required, and meet the requirements of Government Code Section -- 34090 for destruction; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney has consented to the destruction of the documents listed on Exhibit "A", NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the Secretary is hereby authorized to destroy the documents listed on Exhibit "A", attached hereto.
