RECOMMENDED AaiON:
Receive and file report on water conservation within the Carlsbad Municipal Water District (CMWD)
service area for September 2015.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
Pursuantto State Water Resources Control Board Resolution No. 2015-0032 adopted May 5, 2015,
CMWD has been mandated to reduce potable water use by 28 percent over the next 270 days. The
State compared the District's monthly data to the same month in 2013. Staff will provide a report
on the effectiveness of the District's "Carlsbad Conserves" campaign and other conservation
strategies and will present water use reductions within the CMWD service area for September 2015.
FISCAL IMPAa:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the staff report.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Pursuant to Public Resources Code Section 21065, this action does not constitute a "project" within
the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change in the
environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, and
therefore does not require environmental review.
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION:
None required.
