nFPT. HD.
CITY ATTY
CITY MGR.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Appoint a Parks and Recreation Commission member to a subcommittee to
review the current planning and development time line for Carrillo Ranch,
ITEM EXPLANATION:
During the January Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, in addition
to a motion to establish a Carrillo Ranch account through the Finance
department, the Commission directed staff to form a subcommittee,
including members from the Historic Preservation Commission, Parks and
Recreation Commission, and Mrs. Joan Kindle to discuss the City's time
line for planning and developing the Carrillo Ranch site.
Attached is the list of Parks and Recreation Commission committees and
the Commissioners assigned to participate in those committees.
With regards to the establishment of a Carrillo Ranch account, the
attached memo from the Finance Director indicates such an account is
currently in existence and apparently has been since 1976.

CARRILLO RANCH TRUST ACCOUNT
Somewhere in the dim dark history of the City of Carlsbad prior to
1976, the Finance Department established a trust account for
collecting money to be used for the improvement of Carrillo Ranch.
The Trust Account No. is 880-519-9208 and currently has a balance
of $5,585.15. This account earns interest at the average rate of
return on the City's investment portfolio. As far as we can tell
there have been no deposits to this account through donations since
approximately 1976 to 1978.
