ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Cultural Arts Manager will make a presentation to the Commission
regarding upcoming public art and special events to be held in Carlsbad
City parks.

The Arts Commission has proposed several upcoming public art projects. Three of
these projects will be loacted in city parks. The third annual Temporary Sculpture
Exhibition, the Carlsbad Golf Course and Larwin Park.
In addition, the Redevelopment Agency has received RFQ's for the bandstand at Magee
Park. Two architectural firms have submitted design proposals.
Other special events using the parks are nine jazz concerts scheduled for Calavera,
Stagecoach and Magee this summer, and Make-A-Circus scheduled to be held at
Magee Park in July.
I would appreciate if you would inform the Parks and Recreation Commission of our
upcoming projects. Please let me know if you need more information.
