RECOMMENDED ACTION:
If Commissioner's are interested in participating in a State Water Project Facilities Tour,
please return the attached form to the City Manager's office.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
The Metropolitan Water District has scheduled a tour of State Water Project Facilities
on January 19th, 20th, and 21st, 1991. Please refer to the attached memo which explains
the details involved with the tour. Your request to attend the tour will be considered
contingent upon the number of responses received by the City Manager's office from
Council members, members of boards, Commissions, City, District staff.
FISCAL IMPACT;
Trip expenses are paid by the Metropolitan Water District.

TOUR OF STATE WATER PROJECT FACILITIES
The Metropolitan Water District (MWD) has scheduled a tour of State water project
facilities on January 19, 20 and 21, 1991. The tour would begin in Sacramento and
proceed to trace the flow of water through various facilities over three days. A tour bus
will take participants to view pumping, storage, and transmission facilities as water flows
south. The bus will return participants to San Diego. Trip expenses are paid by MWD.
The first day of the tour covers the areas north of Sacramento including Oroville
Reservoir. The second day features the Bay Delta Area, and the third covers areas south
to Bakersfield featuring the Edmunson Pumping Plant There is room for a maximum of
40 people on the trip however, MWD would like a minimum of 30. In addition to council
members, members of boards, commissions, city, and district staff will be invited on the
trip.

Office.
