DEPT.
TITLE: DEPARTMENTAL EFFECTS OF A
STAGE V WATER ALERT (INFO)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive verbal update from staff regarding the departmental effects of a Stage V Water
Alert.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
Doug Duncanson, Parks Superintendent, will address the Commission regarding the effects
of a Stage V Water Alert as they will relate primarily to irrigation practices, to existing
landscapes within park sites, medians, and City buildings.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The proposed budget request for the water account for fiscal year 1991-92 is $124,000.
Although a reduction in water rate use from 30% to 50% would reduce expenditures
accordingly, fines which would be imposed should water rate use exceed required reductions
could be substantial.
