RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Review, discuss, and take appropriate action.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Commission Castner has requested this issue be addressed by the Parks and Recreation
Commission in an effort to eliminate the conflict which arises during the development of
a community park site with respect to neighboring residents. In essence, this discussion
would lead to the positive identification of future park sites and the notification to area
residents that a site in close proximity to their dwelling unit(s) will be developed as such.
Staff would offer, for the sake of discussion and possible action, the following suggestions
relative to this issue.
The establishment of signs on all future park sites.
Include the Parks and Recreation Master Plan map within the Recreation
brochures which are delivered to each resident.
Require developers, through a condition of development, to provide future
home buyers with the exact location of future park sites within their
development and indicate the exact location within their consumer literature.
