CONSENT CALENDAR
The following items were unanimously approved.
1. AB #492-1 DIRECTOR'S REPORT - April - May 1992
2. AB #492-2 SUMMARY REPORT - March 16, 1992 Commission Meeting
3. AB #492-3 RECEIPT OF $500 DONATION - Recommending acceptance by the City
Manager
4. AB #492-4 RECEIPT OF CITIZEN LETTER - Regarding Larwin Park

5. AB #492-5 ALTA MIRA PARK
By a unanimous decision, the Commission endorsed design Alternative A. However, by
a 3-3 vote, the Commission reached a split decision between Alternative A, and A2.
Alternative A1 identifies three (3) baseball fields in the design concept, A2 eliminates one
(1) ballfield and creates additional area for passive open space).
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
6. AB #492-6 APPOINTMENT OF PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE
TO REVIEW PANEL FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVITY FUNDING
The Commission appointed Dr. David Castner as the Parks and Recreation Commission
representative to the review panel for Community activity funding requests. Commissioner
Finilla was named as the Alternate.
7. AB #492-7 CARRILLO RANCH SUBCOMMITTEE
The Commission unanimously recommended to continue the subcommittee on an Ad Hoc
basis once a recommendation and final report for the additional land dedication (8.5 ac)
for the park requirement associated with Zone 18 has been completed.
_8. AB #492-8 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ANNUAL WORKSHOP
The date for the Annual Commission Workshop will be June 13, 1992 from 8:00 a.m. to
1:00 p.m. at the Carlsbad Senior Center. ETYLJTBTT 1

9. AB #492-9 SPLIT PAVILION
By an unanimous vote, the Parks and Recreation Commission recommended the Split
Pavilion and corresponding acreage amount (.17 ac) be withdrawn from the park inventory
and that the maintenance responsibilities be assumed by the Utilities/Maintenance
Department.
10. AB #492-10 LEVANTE PARK
By an unanimous vote the Commission directed staff to pursue and monitor the issue of
citizen complaints and develop an action plan for each item with special emphasis relating
to complaints associated with baseball (hardball) activity.
11. AB #492-1 1 NORTHWEST QUADRANT PARK ISSUE
The Commission received an informational update relating to a recent Council presentation
for Northwest Quadrant Park Enhancement.
