TITLE: SUMMARY REPORT (ACTION) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review, accept and approve the Summary Report of the January Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. ITEM EXPLANATION; Attached is the Summary Report of the Parks and Recreation Commission meeting of January 1993. EXHIBIT; 1. Summary Report, Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, January 1993 16 January 21, 1993 TO: MAYOR LEWIS MAYOR PROTEM STANTON CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM: Parks and Recreation Director SUMMARY REPORT OF PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING 01/18/93 CONSENT CALENDAR The following items were unanimously approved by the Commission (7-0) 1. AB #193-1 DIRECTOR'S REPORT - January 1993 2. AB #193-2 SUMMARY REPORT - The December Parks and Recreation Commission meeting. PUBLIC HEARINGS: NONE DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS 3. AB #193-3 GOLF COURSE UPDATE - The Commission received an informational update regarding the additional sites currently being evaluated for a municipal golf course location. 4. AB #193-4 GROWTH MANAGEMENT UPDATE - The Commission received an informational status update of the Growth Management Program by Senior Management Analyst Don Rideout. 5. AB #193-5 PARKS AND RECREATION ELEMENT UPDATE - By unanimous action (7-0), the Commission approved revisions to the Parks and Recreation Element which have recently been made as part of the overall revision and update of the City's General Plan. 6. AB #193-6 LEVANTE CENTER - The Commission unanimously approved (7-0) and directed staff to pursue negotiations with the Encinrtas Union School District to revise the existing use agreement to have the La Costa Heights School assume ownership of the Levante center building. 7. AB #193-7 REVISION OF FACILITY USE REGULATIONS - By a unanimous vote (7-0), the Commission approved revisions to the current facility use regulations and recommended approval by the City Council. 8. AB #193-8 COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS - Commission members were selected and assigned to serve, as necessary, on various Parks and Recreation Commission subcommittees. 1 rrvLJTDTT 1 Page Two 9. AB #193-9 1988 ROBERTI-Z'BERG-HARRIS/SENIOR CENTER BARBECUE - After discussing a number of possible projects for funding by the Roberti-Z'Berg-Harris Grant, the Commission, by a 6-1 vote directed staff to pursue the possibility of playfield development at the Aviara Oaks School site.
