RECOGNITION (INFO)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept and file.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
As a matter of record, the attached letter (Exhibit 1) has been sent to a number of
individuals within the community in an effort to acknowledge their volunteer service
to the community. Formal acknowledgement has been made during the presentation
section of the April 19, 1993 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting.

On behalf of the Carlsbad Parks and Recreation Department, it is my distinct pleasure
to inform you that the Department has recognized you as an "Outstanding Community
Volunteer." Your devoted work to citizens in Carlsbad has earned you this distinction.
Staff and the Parks and Recreation Commission would like to honor you at their
monthly meeting on April 19.
Scheduled for the City Hall Council Chambers, the meeting begins at 5:00 p.m. The
awards presentation is scheduled early on the agenda shortly after the meeting
begins. Staff would love to have you present.
At your convenience, please call me at 434-2841 to R.S.V.P. the evening. If I am not at
my desk, don't hesitate to leave a message on the voice mail. I would appreciate a
call by 12:00 noon, Friday, April 16.
