4. AB #493-4 HOSPICE OF THE NORTH COAST - By a vote ((WaTd), the
Commission appointed a subcommittee, Holmes, Ward, Cox working with Dave
Kulchin and staff members Duncanson to revise and set guidelines for a tree
planting program which would serve to memorialize deceased individuals.
5. AB #493-5 REQUEST TO LEASE PROPERTY - By a 5-1 vote (Ward), the
Commission approved a request by US West Cellular to leave a portion of Chase
Field for the purpose of providing a mobile phone facility. (The dissenting vote
does not support the leasing of park land for non-recreational activities).
6. AB #493-6 FACILITY STANDARDS UPDATE - By a vote of 5-0, the Commission
approved the revised Facility Standards Inventory matrix and also directed that the
Facility/Activity Standards be changed to Facility/Activity Goals and Guidelines.
The Commission's reasoning was that the term "standard" was too concrete,
where goals and guidelines were more flexible.
