RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive donations of three hundred fifty dollars ($350) cash and seven hundred seventy eight
dollars ($778) of merchandise in support of the 1995-1996 Youth Basketball League, and
recommend that City Council accept these donations.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The following persons/organizations offered donations of either cash or product in support of the
Annual Youth Basketball League.
• Spalding Sports (basketball supplies) - Mr. Gary Wiencek $598
• Mr. Mark Caruana (basketballs) $180
• Schneider & Schneider, Attorneys-at-Law (cash) $150
• Mark V. Caruana, Attorney-at-law (cash) $200
TOTAL $1,128
iis year's program runs from December through March with more than 600 youngsters
participating at Stagecoach and Calavera Hills gymnasiums. The support of these
businesses/persons helps to defray the cost of equipment and uniforms.
A letter of appreciation will be sent on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds will be deposited into account #800-519-9210-000 (Recreation Special Events).
