TITLE: AGUA HEDIONDA LAGOON UPDATE (INFO)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept and file staff report.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Staff will present a brief update regarding the results of an Agua Hedionda Lagoon Planning
Workshop held on October 31,1996.
This item is being presented for the Commission's information as it relates to a pending report
from the Planning Department regarding a proposal from the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation
to expand the study area of the lagoon.
The Commission may also recall that there is still a pending request from the AHL Foundation for
the Parks and Recreation Commission to initiate an in-depth study related to the future
recreation potential of the lagoon. As staff has previously indicated, this issue will return for
action once the report from the Planning Department becomes available. However, it is not
anticipated that this issue will return until January 1997.

- Are pooled resources feasible for each task?

talk on the lagoon's history and the ongoing activities and plans for Agua
Hedionda lagoon was most interesting. I really appreciate you taking time
out of your busy schedule to meet with our foundation members and taking
part in valuable discussions involving one of Carlsbad's finest assets, Agua
Hedionda Lagoon.
The foundation is very interested in keeping abreast of any future plans your
department has regarding Agua Hedionda lagoon. Please keep our
organization in mind if there issues relating to the lagoon or if there is any
assistance you feel our organization can provide to the city.
