PARKS The Parks division has just completed renovation of the landscape at Car Country Park. Older acacia shrubs were removed. New ground cover (gazania and day lilies) planted and a new section of lawn was installed. These improvements will help improve the visibility as well as the appearance/color at this site. Safety Center landscaping has been improved with new plantings of perennial flowering shrubs (i.e., rapheolepis, day lily, agapanthus) along with these plantings the drip irrigation was also upgraded. The Park division is currently preparing for the summer jazz concerts and the renovation of the soccer fields. The Fuerte field will be completely re-stolonized. The bank area adjacent to this field will also be gunnited over with concrete. This project is a joint effort of La Costa Youth Organization, the Lightning Soccer Club and the Carlsbad Community Service Department. jnVTBRADSHAW c: City Manager Assistant City Manager Department Heads
