Assignments to each of the Commission committees have historically been made by the
chairperson. Consequently, if Commissioners have a particular preference, expertise, or interest

RECOMMENDED ACTION :
Consider the list of existing subcommittees and add to; or delete, as necessary. Approve the
new list and the appointment of Commissioners to serve on those subcommittees as required.
ITEM EXPLANATION :
The attached list is the existing Commission member appointments to standing subcommittees of
the Park and Recreation Commission. During the November 12, 1997 workshop, the general
consensus of the Commission (and staff) was that the existing list of subcommittees should be
revised to include additional committees and/or delete committees which are no longer effectual.
More specifically, as indicated in the workshop summary of data (previous agenda item) the
Commission suggested adding a Parks and Recreation Element Revision, CIP Budget Review,
and possibly a Recreation Brochure Committee to the list.
