STAFF: Bradshaw 1 RECOMMENDED ACTION : 0 INFO ACTION Receive donations of six hundred dollars ($600) cash and nineteen hundred-eighty dollars ($1,980) of merchandise in support of the Youth Basketball Program, and one hundred dollars ($100) cash and forty nine hundred one dollars ($4,901) of merchandise in support of the Youth Baseball Clinic; and recommend that City Council accept these donations. Approximately 850 youngsters on 96 teams, ages 7-17, will be playing throughout the season at Calavera Hills and Stagecoach Community Centers. The program emphasizes the acquisition of skills and an equal opportunity to play. Cash donations will help to offset the cost of program equipment. AB# Page 2 The Youth Baseball Clinic was held the week of January 5 - IO, 1998. Outstanding local youth baseball coaches led youngsters, ages 8-1 5, through the fundamentals of the game. Donated merchandise has been distributed to all basketball and baseball participants. Letters of appreciation will be sent on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Commission.
