ITEM EXPLANATION :
Attached is a matrix which compares the Carlsbad Parksite Amenity Goals and Guidelines to the
surrounding communities of Oceanside, Vista, and Encinitas. Although the City of San Marcos
was solicited to respond, they have stated that they use the same Standards as the County of
San Diego. Attempts to retrieve the County Standards have not revealed any usable information
to date. However, County staff have indicated they are in the process of revising the County’s
equivalent to the Parks and Recreation Element and associated information may be available as
that document is finalized.
This item is informational only at this time. Staff will return at future meetings to focus on revising
(if appropriate) any amenity goals and / or guidelines for facilities within our parksites.
