Rec STAFF: Bradshaw 0 INFO ACTION I RECOMMENDED ACTION : Receive donations of two thousand three hundred fifteen dollars ($2,315) in cash and six thousand eight hundred ninety five dollars ($6,895) of merchandise in support of the Youth Basketball Program and recommend that City Council accept these donations. Approximately 900 youngsters on 96 teams, ages 7-17, will be playing throughout the season at Calavera Hills and Stagecoach Community Centers as well as LaCosta Canyon High School and Carlsbad High School. The program emphasizes the acquisition of skills and an equal opportunity to play. Cash donations will help to offset the cost of program equipment. Donated merchandise will be distributed to all basketball participants. Letters of appreciation will be sent on behalf of the Parks and Recreation Commission. FISCAL IMPACT: Funds have been deposited into Account # 149-4503-5651 (Recreation Special Events). EXHIBITS: 1.
