Over the past two (2) months, staff has researched a number of issues in order to prepare the
leadership of this community with a vision of what Carlsbad will look like or what some of the key
issues facing this community will be in the next five (5) years if the City continues its overall
direction based on current policies, ordinances, and strategic goals.
To date, this presentation has been made to the City Council in conjunction with their goal setting
process, the Leadership Team (LT) members, the Management Group, select managers and the
LT in conjunction with their goal setting process, and to a variety of City Boards and
Commissions.
For the value that this Commission may receive from this presentation, in association with the
issues that you have been commissioned to respond to, staff considers this to be a beneficial
glimpse of Carlsbad’s future. More specifically, this information may be instrumental in the
Commission’s review of the Parksite Amenity Goals and Guidelines.
This is an information item only, staff is available to respond to any questions the Commission
may have.
