CONSENT CALENDAR
The following consent calendar items were unanimously (6-0) approved by the
Commission.
1. AB ## 599-1 COMMISSIONER'S REPORT
To accept and file the Commissioner's Report for May 1999.
2. AB #599-2 SUMMARY REPORT 4
To approve, accept and file the Summary Report of the April 1999 Parks and
Recreation Commission Meeting

3. AB 599-3 HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT I TREE REMOVAL ON
CHARLEEN CIRCLE AND SEACREST DRIVE
By a vote of 5-1, the Commission recommended that the City proceed with
the curb and gutter replacement pcogram with the removal of street trees as
required unless homeowners in th6 affected area sign the new Hold
Harmless Agreement.
The dissenting vote, (Richards) felt the City should consider offering to the
Charleen Circle and Sea Crest Drive residents the same Hold Harmless
Agreement which was successfully used two years ago for the Donna Drive
residents.
4. AB 599-4 SUB-COMMITTEE REPORT TO THE COMMISSION / DOG PARK
SITE SELECTION RECOMMENDATION
After staff report, public input and discussion, the Commission unanimously
approved (6-0) to establish a temporary Dog Park facility at Larwin Park
Upper area, to request City Council amend C.M.C. Chapter 11.32 to allow
dogs in the Dog Park at Upper Larwin and to request $35,880 in funding for
the site. The Commission directed staff to proceed to City Council for their
review and approval.

5. AB 599-5 GOLF COURSE UPDATE
The Commission received an informational update from staff regarding the
Golf Course project.
6. AB 599-6 CITY / SCHOOL COMMITTEE UPDATE
The Commission received an informational update regarding topics of
discussion at the April 21, 1999 City / School Coordinating Committee
meeting. These topics included:
Scheduling of fields at Jefferson Elementary School
Availability of Pine School
School financing
School district reorganization
Update on appraisal of Pine property
Field development of Valley Jr. High School flower field - 5 acres
Tour of Las Palmas building by CUSD
School sidewalks at Valley Jr. High, Magnolia, and Carlsbad High School
areas
