ITEM EXPLANATION : The Park Development Coordinator has prepared a Summary Report on the status of the Carlsbad Golf Course development (Exhibit I), for Commission members serving on the Golf Course Steering Committee. It is anticipated that the Commission will receive a more in depth update on the Golf Course development progress during the January meeting. November 1, 1999 TO: SCOTT PIERATT, GOLF COURSE STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBER JULIE BAKER, GOLF COURSE STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBER From: Park Development Coordinator STATUS SUMMARY CARLSBAD GOLF COURSE The following is a bullet point summary of our current status of the Golf Course Project. PERMITS The City is still pursuing permits for the Golf Course Project. Approval of the City Habitat Management plan will greatly enhance the ability of obtaining the needed permits. The City Council approved the Plan on September 21". The USF&W Service and Cal. F&G are currently reviewing the plan. Approvals expected in early 2000. In addition to the HMP, the City will need to obtain the following several other from the City itself and other agencies. All permits are expected to be received by summer 2000. DESIGN Final design approx. 80% complete. which include: Grading plans Course layout Planting plins Irrigation plans 0 0 0 Architectural plans for clubhouse Bridge plans (over College) 0 Waterscape plans (waterfall, lakes, etc.) 0 Engineering Dept. has first submittal of grading plans for review. All plans expected to complete by January 2000 SCHEDULE P Start project September 2000 18 months to complete Anticipated completion early 2002 EXHIBIT 1 16 pg. 2, Golf Course Status. ‘ INPUT Golf Course Steering Committee has been meeting regularly during the project development. The public is also invited. Meetings have averaged 3-5 general public attendees. Parks and Recreation Commission formal update scheduled for January meeting.
