AB #301-1 COMMISSIONER'S REPORT - Departmental information for March 2001. 2. AB #301-2 SUMMARY REPORT - The Summary Report of the January Parks and Recreation Commission - Meeting. 3. AB #301-3 CITIZEN LETTERS REQUESTING SWIM COMPLEX - Three individual letters requesting the City to construct an additional swim complex. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS 4. 5. r 6. 7. a. 9. 10. AB'#3014 CITY OF CARLSBAD PUBLIC OPINION SURVEY - The Commission received a presentation on the results of a Citywide survey regarding the attitudes of City residents concerning issues such as City provided services, facilities, programs etc. AB #301-5 REQUEST BY SPRINT PCS FOR CELLULAR SITE AT CALAVERA HILLS COMMUNITY PARK - The Commission unanimously (5-0) approved a request by Sprint PCS for a wireless communication site at Calavera Hills Community Park pending further review by the Planning Commission and City Council. AB #301-6 COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS - The Commission deferred this issue until all members were in attendance. AB #301-7 COMMISSION APPOINTMENTICOMMUNITY FOREST MANAGEMENT PLAN - Commissioner Gary Cox volunteered to be the Commission liaison to the Community Forest Management Plan. His appointment was unanimously (5-0) endorsed by the Commission. AB #301-8 SWIM COMPLEX UPDATE - At the request of the Commission, staff gave an update of the history behind efforts to develop a second swim complex in Carlsbad, including the Council's most recent action to endorse the development of the aquatic facility in Alga Norte Park as part of the FY 2000-01 CIP Budget adoption. AB #301-9 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM KIP) BUDGET REVIEW - Staff updated the Commission regarding the CIP project submittals for FY 2001-02. The Commission commented that if the artificial turf project proposed for installation at several ball fields is approved, then a test site should be established to determine its effectiveness prior to multiple installations. AB #310-10 ZONE 19 PARKSITE UPDATElClTY COUNCIL ACTION - Staff updated the Commission relative to City Councils action on the Zone 19 Park Site Master Plan proposal which was presented to them during the March 6,2001 City Council Meeting.
