RECOMMENDED ACTION :
Consider an alternative Commission Meeting date for the January and February meeting.
ITEM EXPLANATION :
The Parks and Recreation Commission regularly meets on the third Monday of each month. The
third Monday of January and February fall on officially observed City holidays. Respectively
these holidays are Martin Luther King Jr's. birthday ( I 8'h ) and President's Day

Staff is re ommending that the Commission consider meeting on an alternate date to conduct its
business of addressing Agenda items for future Commission Meetings. Furthermore, staff would
recommend that the Commission consider either the date of!January 28'h or February 4th to
conduct that business.
Depending upon which date is selected, staff will secure a meeting room, which may differ from
the regular meeting location of the City Council Chambers. Anticipated Agenda items will
include: . Revisions to the Facility Use Rules, Regulations and Fee Structure (Council Policy #28) . Trails Update . Coastal Rail Trail Presentation . Recreation Program Presentation
The substitute meeting date will be determined by a consensus of the Commission.
