ITEM EXPLANATION : Attached is a copy of the Summary Report of the January 28,2002 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting. EXHIBITS: 1. Summary Report - Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting - January 28,2002 : February 7,2002 TO: MAYOR LEWIS + MAYOR PRO TEM KULCHIN COUNCIL MEMBERS FINNILA, HALL, NYGAARD KEITH BEVERLY RECREATION FROM: SENIOR MANAGEMENT ANALYST SUMMARY REPORT OF THE JANUARY 28,2002 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING CONSENT CALENDAR The following consent items were unanimously approved. 1. AB #I 02-1 COMMISSIONER’S REPORT - January, 2002. 2. AB #102-2 SUMMARY REPORT - December 21,2001 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting. 3. AB #102-3 RECEIPT OF DONATION - The Commission received a donation to Carrillo Ranch Trust and recommended acceptance by the City Manager. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS 4. AB #I024 APPEAL OF TREE REMOVAL DENIAL AT 7247 CARPA COURT- The Commission unanimously approved a citizen appeal of a staff recommendation to deny the removal of a street tree located in front of a residence on Carpa Court. The tree will’be replaced with an approved species, purchased by the owner. - 5. AB #I024 AMMENDMENTS TO THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT’S FACILITY USE REGULATIONS AND FEE STRUCTURE - After considerable discussion, the Commission unanimously recommended the proposed amendments to the Facility Use Regulations, and directed Staff to return with further information regarding the Recreation Program costs and issues related to self-sustaining percentages for recreation programs. 6. AB #102-6 FEBRUARY 2002 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING DATE - Due to a City Holiday, the regularly scheduled February 18, 2002 Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting was re-scheduled to February 28‘h, in order to address the Larwin Park Master Plan and a name recommendation for the Zone 19 Park Site. 7. AB #102-7 STAFF PRESENTATION - RECREATION PROGRAMS - The Commission received an informational Staff presentation on the Recreation Department’s Special Events and the Youth and Adult Sports Programs. 8.
