SUMMARY REPORT OF THE MAY 20,2002 PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS
2. AB #502-2 MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE UPDATE - At the request of the Commission, the Municipal Projects
Manager presented an update on the municipal golf course.
3. AB #502-3 CITYWIDE TRAILS UPDATE AND STATUS REPORT -The Commission received an update on
several work programs relating to the implementation of the Citywide Trail System.
4. AB #502-4 TEMPORARY BATTING CAGES AT PINE FIELD - After considering a request to construct
temporary batting cages at Pine School, the Commission unanimously (5-0) deferred any action pending the
outcome of Council direction relative to the Master Plan for the Northwest Quadrant Community Park at the
former Pine School location. (Davidson and Comstock abstain)
5. AB #502-5 COMMUNITY FOREST MANAGEMENT PLAN - After staff presentation and consideration of
Commission comments, the Commission unanimously accepted the Community Forest Management Plan
Document.
6. AB #502-6 NORTHEAST QUADRANT PARK ACQUISITION UPDATE - The Commission received an update
on the acquisition efforts for additional parkland in the Northeast Quadrant, specifically within the Robertson
Ranch.
*The June 17, 2002 Parks and Recreation Commission will be cancelled in-lieu of the Northwest Quadrant
Community Park Public Workshop No. 2. The workshop will be held at the Senior Center beginning at 6:OO p.m.
