AB #503-I SUMMARY REPORT - The Summary Report of the April 21, 2003 Parks and
Recreation Commission Meeting was unanimously (5-0) approved.
AB #503-2 RECEIPT OF DONATIONS - The Commission received a donation of $550 from
the City’s Strategic Change Team. Funds will support the Recreation Departments
Opportunities Grant Program.
AB #503-3 RECEIPT OF DONATIONS - The Commission received cash donations of
$12,325, and $26,337 worth of goods and services in support of the Carlsbad Triathlon. The
Commission recommended the donation be accepted by the City Council.

AB #503-4 AQUATIC FEE INCREASES - After staff report, public input and considerable
discussion, the Commission amended their recommendation concerning the swim complex fee
schedule that was approved during the April Commission Meeting. The Commission did
endorse a fee structure that was less aggressive in terms of the per lane hour fees charged to
community non-profit groups, North Coast Aquatics and Carlsbad Unified School District. With
direction to review these fees annually, the motion and fee schedule was adopted by a vote of
3-2.
AB #503-5 PROPOSED FEE SCHEDULE AND AMENDMENT TO CITY COUNCIL POLICY
#28 TO INCORPORATE THE CARRILLO RANCH FACILITY USE REGUALTIONS - The
Commission unanimously (5-0) endorsed the proposed amendments to the Facility Use
Regulations (Council Policy #28) to incorporate specific rules for use of the Carrillo Ranch.
The Commission also endorsed the proposed fee schedule for rental of the facility. The
Commission recommended approval (5-0) by the City Council.
AB #503-6 PARK INVENTORY REVIEW - The Commission unanimously (5-0) recommended
to defer discussion on this issue until a Commission Workshop can be arranged at a later date. -
