DATE: 8-18-03 STAFF: PRICHARD TITLE : RECEIPT OF DONATIONS n INFO [HI ACTION RECOMMENDED ACTION : Receive individual donations of cash and product or in-kind services in support of the June 8, 2003 Carlsbad Triathlon and recommend acceptance by the City Council. ITEM EXPLANATION : The following organizations offered donations of $6190 cash and $13,660 in product or in-kind services in support of this event. In order to maintain the caliber, integrity and notoriety that currently exists for the Carlsbad Triathlon, the cost of providing the $13,660 of donated products, goods and services is an expense, which would otherwise be required of the General Fund. $6190 in cash donations has been deposited into the Recreation Triathlon Donations account #149-4502-5651. Letters of appreciation have already been sent on behalf of the Recreation Department and the City of Carlsbad to all of the businesses and organizations. EXHIBITS: NONE 11
